2026 Annual Meeting

2026 Cancellation Policy
To cancel your registration and receive a refund, a written request must be received in the COMSEP office by March 11, 2026. Cancellation requests received by this date will receive a refund less a $50.00 processing fee. Requests will be processed after the meeting. All requests received on or after March 11, 2026 will forfeit 100% of monies paid.

Code of Conduct
COMSEP is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all meeting participants, including, but not limited to, attendees, speakers, volunteers, exhibitors, COMSEP staff members, and service providers. COMSEP has zero-tolerance for any form of bullying, discrimination, or harassment, and reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including immediate removal from the meeting without warning or refund, in response to any incident of unacceptable behavior. COMSEP reserves the right to prohibit attendance at any future meeting, virtually or in person. Disruption of presentations at any event organized by COMSEP is strictly prohibited. Presentations, postings, and messages should not contain promotional materials, special offers, job offers, product announcements, or solicitation for services. COMSEP reserves the right to remove any presentation, posting, or message that it deems to be inappropriate for a scientific meeting.

Photography
By registering for the COMSEP Annual Meeting, attendees consent to be photographed during the meeting, with the understanding that these images will be used in COMSEP documents, social media, and publications only. If anyone prefers to not have their photo used by COMSEP, please contact info@comsep.org.

Meeting Receipt
An email receipt will be sent to the primary email associated with the registrant. Attendees can also download a receipt through their COMSEP account.

Miller Sarkin Lecture: Transforming Child Health Education: A Vision for Socially Just Pediatrics in Canada

In this plenary session, Dr. Razack will engage the audience in reflecting on how pediatric education in Canada may need to evolve and adapt to a reframing that understands injustice as built-in to health care systems and practice, and which looks at the totality of health as having multifactorial causality, with determinants ranging from the biological, to the structural, to the lived physical environment. Through commonplace case discussions, we will explore how pediatrics education might be transformed for greater social justice, for the best possible health outcomes for the youngest among us, recognizing that pediatric interventions can affect the next 8 or 9 decades of life.

The Miller Sarkin lecture is named in honor of two COMSEP presidents, Dr. Steven Z. Miller and Dr. Richard T. Sarkin, who died in a plane crash in 2004.  Two individuals who dedicated their lives to training the pediatricians of tomorrow, Dr. Miller and Dr. Sarkin were humanistic creative educators and revered by the entire COMSEP and pediatric community.

Continuing Education (CE)

To receive CE for the COMSEP Meeting, attendees will need to purchase at $50 when registering.
Information about receiving CE certificate will be emailed out post meeting. 

CE Language

COMSEP is pleased to offer a limited number of Medical Student Travel Grants to the 2026 Annual Meeting in Vancouver, BC, Canada, March 25-28, 2026. The purpose of this grant is to help medical students defray travel/accommodation costs of attending the COMSEP meeting where they will present their research and/or help facilitate a workshop presentation.  

To be eligible, applicants must be a current medical student (through March 2026) at an accredited institution and must be the author (priority will be given to students who are first authors) on a research or innovative abstract/poster that has been accepted to the 2026 meeting or be part of a workshop team that is presenting at the meeting. Applicants must also provide a letter of support from a current COMSEP member, who has mentored them and will accompany them to the meeting.  

Each awardee will be granted $750 US dollars. The number of awardees will be based on grant funding.
