The Curriculum Task Force meets to fulfill pediatric curricular needs pre-clerkship, clerkship, and post-clerkship. The Curriculum Task Force envisions the curriculum as a “living document” that will require ongoing modification to ensure that it reflects the present state of pediatric knowledge and educational theory. APA/COMSEP General Pediatric Clerkship Curriculum, along with a Resource Manual for clerkship directors, was first published in 1995, with funding from the Bureau of Health Professions. The first revision of the curriculum and the accompanying problem set was completed in March 2002 with a second revision in 2005. In 2010, the Curriculum Task Force published a curriculum for the pediatric sub-internship in collaboration with the APPD (Association of Pediatric Program Directors). There is currently an inter-task force group working on revision of the Pediatric Core Curriculum with a goal completion date of July 2019. Any COMSEP member who has an interest in curriculum development may attend the task force sessions at the annual meeting and/or contact one of the task force co-chairs.
