Q: What will be the format of the COMSEP Annual Meeting?
A: COMSEP will be meeting in person in Cincinnati and will not have any virtual components to the meeting.
Q: Why did COMSEP decide to hold the 2022 Annual Meeting in person?
A: COMSEP strongly believes that meeting in person creates opportunities for developing collaborations and professional relationships, meeting new friends, and seeing old friends that a virtual meeting simply cannot match. This is especially true for trainees and people attending the meeting for the first time. Many other professional associations are transitioning back to meeting in person for 2022—our meeting will not be the first. Importantly, much more is known about the virus now, compared to when we were planning our 2020 and 2021 annual meetings. This knowledge will allow us to take steps to keep our members as safe as possible—your safety is of paramount importance to COMSEP!
Q: What COVID precautions will COMSEP use for the 2022 annual meeting?
A: We are consulting with infectious disease experts and learning about safety measures effectively employed by other professional associations for their in person meetings. These measures include requiring full vaccination as well as requiring masks for all indoor annual meeting activities. We also plan to offer hand sanitizer and encourage social distancing when possible. We are closely following the science and will continue to update our safety plans as we approach the annual meeting. We will take absolutely every necessary step to maximize your safety!
Q: How will you know if I'm fully vaccinated:
A: We are working with a company called 42Chat HealthShield that will collect your vaccinations cards via a link sent to your cell phone. Keep a watch on your phone for the text with the link and instructions on how to upload a picture of your vaccination card. All information is held on a private server and COMSEP will not have access to any of your information, except for the notification that you have successfully uploaded your card.
Q: Where is the offside dinner taking place this year?
A: We will be visiting the Union Terminal Hall at the Cincinnati Museum Center for a fun-filled evening! So bring your dancing shoes and masks, and get ready to have a great time! Dinner is included in your registration and guests are welcome! You can purchase a guest ticket when you register! Transportation will be available to get you to and from the Cincinnati Hilton Netherlands Plaza hotel.
