COMSEP Travel Grant Opportunity for the 2026 Annual Meeting in Vancouver, BC Canada, March 25-28, 2026.
COMSEP is pleased to offer a limited number of Medical Student Travel Grants to the 2026 Annual Meeting in Vancouver, BC, Canada, March 25-28, 2026. The purpose of this grant is to help medical students defray travel/accommodation costs of attending the COMSEP meeting where they will present their research and/or help facilitate a workshop presentation.
To be eligible, applicants must be a current medical student (through March 2026) at an accredited institution and must be the author (priority will be given to students who are first authors) on a research or innovative abstract/poster that has been accepted to the 2026 meeting or be part of a workshop team that is presenting at the meeting. Applicants must also provide a letter of support from a current COMSEP member, who has mentored them and will accompany them to the meeting.
Each awardee will be granted $750 US dollars. The number of awardees will be based on grant funding.
Deadline: February 9, 2026 at 5pm eastern
Applications will be reviewed, then based on funding and the number of applications submitted, COMSEP will notify all applicants of awards.

Eligibility Criteria
- Enrollment and Academic Standing:
- Must be currently enrolled as a medical student at an accredited institution.
- Must upload letter of good standing from your institution’s registrar.
- Presenting Author and Abstract Submission:
- Must be an author of an accepted abstract to the COMSEP 2026 Annual Meeting.

- Submission of a one-page statement which includes:
- Statement of Benefit and Purpose: Please provide a statement explaining how attending the conference will benefit your education or career and how it aligns with your career goals and academic interests. (Max 500 words);
- Contribution to Diversity: Please demonstrate how you contribute to diversity in your profession (e.g., URiM, first-generation student). (Max 300 words)
- Letter of Good Standing from Institution:
- Upload a letter of good standing from the registrar/student affairs office.
- Letter of Support from COMSEP member:
- Please upload a letter of support from a mentor, who is a COMSEP member and who will accompany you to the meeting.
- CV/Resume:
- Please upload your current CV or resume showcasing your academic achievements, relevant experiences, and professional activities.
