Why COMSEP COACH?
Coaching has broad applicability and is focused on asking questions that encourage exploration and curiosity in the coachee. While mentoring is sometimes thought of as creating someone like oneself by directing them, coaching involves helping others achieve their goals by asking reflective and thoughtful questions. Started in 2022, this interactive, longitudinal course is based on the competencies of the International Federation of Coaches. The coaching program gives medical educators the skills and resources to effectively coach their learners and peers.
Program Overview
The in-person program includes pre-meeting orientation materials, welcome reception, and a one-and-a-half-day conference taught by certified coaches that will include large group sessions and peer coaching practice. This is followed by longitudinal learning and practice during monthly conference calls via zoom, and a final half day virtual capstone course and celebration!
COMSEP members: $2,000 / Non-members: $2,500

Schedule:
Start: Tuesday, September 22nd at 6:30pm eastern (begins with opening session and reception)
End: Thursday, September 24th at 2:30pm eastern (including lunch)
Hotel accommodations: we will provide a hotel link upon registering with discounted room rate
for attendees: $269 per night (plus fees, taxes)
Due to the interactive nature of this program, registration is limited to 30 participants.
Note: COMSEP Coach Program will take place just prior to the APPD 2026 Pediatric Medical Education Conference
on September 25 - 26, 2026 at the same location in Arlington, VA (hotels are connected).
